Get to Know Your Relationship Team

Karen currently serves as a Senior Director of Investment Services for Texas CLASS. She has an extensive background working with public-sector clients for over 20 years, providing arbitrage rebate compliance services to tax-exempt entities nationwide. She has worked closely with state and local government entities throughout the United States, especially Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Her responsibilities currently encompass a focus on the growth and relationship management of Texas CLASS along with a focus on separately managed accounts for public entities, business development, client relations, and customer service.

In her previous position at BLX Group, LLC, Karen was responsible for business development throughout the Southwest with states, cities, school districts, and other municipal and public agencies. Additional career responsibilities include client education activities, developing formal proposal responses, contract preparations, and client liaison for all consulting engagements. Karen graduated from California State University San Bernardino with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Liberal Studies with an emphasis on Bilingual-Cross Cultural Education (Spanish).

Tony is a Director of Investment Services with nearly thirty years of investment experience assisting public fund clients in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and Florida. He is very involved in the Government Finance Officers Association of Texas, Government Treasurers’ Organization of Texas, and the Gulf Coast Chapter of the Government Finance Officers Association. He has spoken at several Government Treasurers’ Organization of Texas Winter Seminars about “Investing in Current Times” and Texas County Treasurer’s Investment Training seminars.

Prior to joining Texas CLASS, Tony was the Managing Director – Fixed Income Securities for Coastal Securities, Inc. with over 150 public fund clients with assets ranging from $15 to $750 million. Tony holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Lamar University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas. He previously held NASD licenses Series 7 and 63.

Danny currently serves as Director of Investment Services and has been associated with the Texas CLASS local government investment pool for more than 20 years where his responsibilities include new business development, sales, and customer service. He has experience working with clients from across the entire state of Texas, developing business with local government finance officials by calling on cities, counties, and school districts. Through his efforts, he currently manages business growth through regional offices located in both Houston and Dallas, while his focus remains on the Austin, San Antonio, South Texas, and El Paso regions.

Danny has a background of working with the City of Austin and the Austin Chamber of Commerce for over ten years. Prior to joining Texas CLASS, he completed numerous courses at Austin Community College and held a variety of full time sales and service roles. His ability to quickly develop friendships as well as gain the support and trust of clients both large and small has provided a solid record of accomplishment and success resulting in new asset balances within the Texas CLASS investment program.

Zach currently serves as a Director of Investment Services based in Texas where he is responsible for developing new participant relationships while providing customer service to current participants. Prior to this, Zach most recently served as a Senior Vice President for FHN Financial where he executed fixed-income sales focusing on public funds, banks, and credit unions for clients’ portfolios ranging from $50 million to over $1 billion with depository portfolios over $3 billion. He has worked with more than 150 public fund clients in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Florida, North Carolina, and Iowa. He additionally served as a Managing Director of Fixed-Income Securities for Coastal Securities.

 

Zach received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance & Information and Operations Management from Texas A&M University. He is an active member of both the Government Finance Officers of Texas and Gulf Coast Chapter of GFOAT, the Government Treasurers’ Organization of Texas, and a Committee Member for the Investment Academy Education Advisory Committee for the Texas Association of Counties. Zach has been working with public funds for over 20 years and has passed both the FINRA Series 7 & 63 exams.
